Apple plans to update many of its accessories to add a USB-C port after doing away with the Lightning port in the iPhone 15 lineup.
Mark Gurman he said The Apple wants to convert its entire range of accessories to the USB-C port until next year, including all AirPods models and Mac accessories. Apparently the transition will happen relatively quickly, similar to what happened in 2012 when the Lightning port made its debut on the iPhone.
“They need to develop a new MagSafe Duo with USB-C,” Gurman said, “and Apple can certainly upgrade the MagSafe battery to add USB-C.” It’s not entirely clear whether these updated accessories will be part of Apple’s “Wonderlust.” event on Tuesday, September 12th or whether they arrive later.
Gurman also believes that the Apple Watch’s now-discontinued magnetic charging dock could be reintroduced with a USB-C port. Although Apple has to do it Upgrade a wide range of cables and accessories In a relatively short time there should be no big news regarding the iPhone 15 presentation event.
Additionally, Gurman explained that a new one is in development MagSafe battery, but it’s probably not ready to launch yet. The Next Generation Battery Pack features a new system that allows users to chain multiple battery packs together by stacking them and charge multiple devices wirelessly at the same time. For example, it will be possible to charge two iPhones at the same time by placing one on each side of the battery pack. Of course, the new accessories will be equipped with a USB-C port.
