Since the release of iOS 15 in 2021, Apple Maps has introduced a more detailed map with custom designed 3D points of interest in major cities around the world. This week in Paris both the more detailed map and the cycle routes went online.
According to Apple, the updated experience offers more detailed information on road markings, buildings, business districts, land cover, trees, hills, transit routes and more. Turn-by-turn navigation has also been improved with augmented reality driving directions Parisand posting bicycle signs along compatible cycle lanes and roads.
In concrete terms, this means that the Eiffel Tower can now be visited from the inside 3D in Apple Mapsalong with the Louvre Museum and other attractions.
More detailed maps are also available in Atlanta, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Miami, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Sydney, Toronto, Washington DC, and a few other cities.
