Apple has shared the Lessons in Chemistry and High Desert trailers.
The series Lessons in chemistry sees as a protagonist Brie Larson who plays Elizabeth Zott, whose dream of becoming a scientist was dashed because of female gender stereotypes at the time:
Set in the early 1960s, Lessons in Chemistry follows Elizabeth Zott whose dreams of becoming a scientist are put aside in a society that believes women belong in the domestic rather than the professional sphere.
When Elizabeth becomes pregnant, alone, and fired from the lab she worked in, she activates herself with the resourcefulness that only a single mother has. She takes a job hosting a TV cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of neglected housewives – and the men who are suddenly listening to her – about more than recipes, while longing for a return to her true love: science .
The series is based on Bonnie Garmus’ forthcoming novel of the same name and will be written by Academy Award nominee Susannah Grant. Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan will serve as executive producers.
high desert is a dark comedy about a drug addict who decides to become a private detective. The main character is played by Patricia ArquetteWinner of numerous Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmys.
However, it won’t be an easy comedy about Ted Lasso since explained apple itself:
High Desert follows Peggy (Arquette), a drug addict who decides to start over after the death of her beloved mother with whom she lived in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California, and makes a life-changing decision: become one Private detective.
The 8-episode series arrives May 17 on Apple TV+.
