Xiaomi has released MIUI 14 for most of its eligible devices, however, the latest version of the company’s custom UI is based on Android 12 for some devices and Android 13 for others.
While some Xiaomi users are hoping to get an Android 13-based MIUI soon, the company has announced Android 14-based MIUI beta for three of its flagship smartphones.
Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro as well as 12T will receive the MIUI beta based on Android 14
Xiaomi recently announced that it is looking for beta testers for MIUI 14.1 based on Android 14. The company has decided to offer early access to the software to owners of Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 12T devices.
The company says it’s only looking for 2,000 users for each of the above devices and says selection is on a first-come, first-served basis. Xiaomi also notes that beta testers should consider contacting the local Xiaomi service center if their devices fail to boot after an update.
The company notes that for now it will only accept applicants running the Global ROM of eligible devices. This detail can be checked by opening the settings and tapping on the “About device” item.
It’s amazing that Xiaomi didn’t include its latest flagship Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi 12T Pro in the Android 14-based MIUI beta. The MIUI 14.1 update is expected to be released later this year in stable form.
